First Friday Films
August 6 (and the first Friday of every month)
Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Marianas Islands Nature Alliance (MINA) and American Memorial Park are co-sponsoring free monthly environmental film screenings with group discussion. The next screening will be held on September 3rd at the American Memorial Park theater at 6:30 p.m. The September event will feature the 2009 Voices Environmental Film Festival winner and 2009 Sundance Film Festival Official Selection, Dirt! The Movie. Called one of the most powerful and influential environmental documentaries yet, the film tells the story of Earth's most valuable and underappreciated source of fertility - dirt. With a message of "what we've destroyed, we can heal," this film is a must see. For more information, please contact Aric Bickel, DEQ at 664-8513 or email aricbickel@deq.gov.
